I was born and raised in Santiago do Cacem, a small town in the south of Portugal. My childhood and teenage years were spent drawing, dreaming, making music and playing with video cameras.
During highschool I was shown Luchino Visconti's "Death in Venice" and I understood that cinema was a mystical phenomenon I had never witnessed before. As a graphic design student, I was shown Maya Deren's "Meshes of the Afternoon" and I decided to start making short films on my own. I developed a taste for underground cinema as a reference and 80's slasher movies as a hobby.
In 2012 I moved to London, where I am based, to study at The London Film School. I graduated as a Director and nowadays I work majorly in London and Portugal.
I am interested in things that I don´t understand. What is unknown for me. Things that I am afraid of. What is not said. Dream and reality as one. Moments where everything comes together. I am triggered by experimentation and doing things that I haven´t done before.
